Well, I've never been a huge fan of this green holiday, but I did wear a green cowgirl hat around all day for the sake of my excited first graders. However, I think I may begin to celebrate March 17th with a little more excitement myself. I have been pleasantly surprised by all of the great, positive things that have happened today!! Dare I say, I have had GOOD LUCK on St. Patrick's Lucky Day?! It has been a good day for many people I know!
FIRST: One of my closest teacher friends found out she and her husband don't have to move because he got a great residency position as a pharmacist right in Ogden! I am so excited that I get to work with this fabulous lady again next year!!
SECOND: I then got a wonderful gift I tried to turn down from another dear friend today... a gift certificate to the SPA!!!! I have never in my life been to a spa, and it would definitely have to rank on one of the top five things I would like to do. I would love to go somewhere and just be pampered. So, although my friend SHOULDN'T HAVE :) I'm ecstatic!!
THIRD: Then I got a phone call from the insurance company... never a good thing, right? Well, today it WAS a good thing! The insurance company called to settle a claim I made in August when I was the passenger in a fender bender and it injured my back. I was just expected to have my medical bills paid for, but I was even more pleasantly surprised with...$2000!!!! As well as my medical bills being paid for. I feel like I won the lottery. Don't worry, that money is going towards something good... SAVINGS!
FOURTH: As I'm telling my husband about all of this awesome news, he informs me that he has ALSO had a wonderful day! We didn't think he was going to be paid for at least another two weeks for his new job, since he was just hired (and that put us in a pinch...no pun intended on this green holiday). BUT, to our surprise, he's getting paid tomorrow!!!
FIFTH: And I'm not done... he also got a phone call from his old boss who had to lay him off during the slow winter season to offer him his old job back! His old job gave him a TON of hours and a TON of money in the summer, and they gave him the next month to consider it!
SIXTH: Even more! Mike comes home with a sweet new backpack and purple ear buds (which he gave to his wife) that he won from some contest on campus!!
WOW!!! It's sure fun to joke around and blame all of these good things on luck, but I REALLY know who to blame and who to thank! Blessings feel wonderful, and it's always nice to have a reminder that we are always loved, cared for, and taken care of.
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY EVERYONE! HOPE YOURS WAS LUCKY!!!

Today did end up being a pretty good day all around!! I am so glad your luck has turned around....you deserve it!!
I am so happy about Lauren too! I was so worried she would have to move! It was a win for all of us!! Now, we just have to worry about getting some more 1st graders for next year so we can have 4 classes. I heard through the grapevine today we may be in danger of losing a teacher....but like I said....that is just what I heard through the office grapevine.
