Summer Lovin'

Just in case you're wondering what we've been up to this summer, here is the longest post in blog history loaded with fabulous pics! Enjoy. . .

We celebrated Mike's first father's day by having a picnic in the living room (it was pouring rain outside) and I gave him the book Hop on Pop and made him a little scrapbook with a poem about our love and all of the good things that have come from our love... including a baby. Mike loved it!

We celebrated our 3rd anniversary by going to the zoo. Our favorites are the elephants and the giraffes.

After reading about the gestation period of a baby elephant, I didn't feel so bad about my nine months.

I went to Logan one weekend to get my hairdone, but my hair stylist had the stomach flu. And all of my family and friends were working. Maya and I had an entire day to ourselves in Logan, so we went and explored Logan canyon. We went on a hike and Maya loved it!

Mike's family has an annual family reunion just with his immediate siblings, since there are nine of them. And dozens and dozens of cute kids. We have gone to the courthouse in Junction, Utah for the past 3 years.

We stayed in the library in the courthouse.

Here's the kids playing on the water slide.

Mike tried to master the unicycle.

Me with my cute niece Reagan.

Mike took the Subaru offroading. He is crazy.

Mike with his niece Sadie.

Mike and I both participated in the dart competition. We never win.

Mike and I had a great time!

I had to leave the family reunion early to fly out to California for a work conference. It was the CABE Two Way Bilingual Education Conference in Sacramento. I had to leave Mikey at home with the puppy, and I went with my new boss. I learned so, so much and met some crazy important people in the educational world. I was so intimidated. My boss and I were busy most of the time, but we had a little time to play. We went to dinner at a fun, nice restaurant on the river.

The restaurant was in Old Town Sacramento. It was so cute and historical. There were a lot of little shops, a beautiful yellow bridge, and a cute little school house.

We also went to midtown and saw the cathedral and the state capital building.

The last evening we were there, the conference had two performers demonstrate and teach us the tango. Afterwards, the teachers all hit the dance floor. Teachers sure know how to get down!!

Next to Christmas, my very favorite time of year is the 4th of July! I love getting together with my family, I love the Cache Valley Cruise In that happens around the 4th of July, I love the fireworks, and I love seeing old friends in Lewiston for the parade and little carnival.

I love the Cruise In! However, I missed a lot of it this year when Mike's car broke down in Sardine Canyon and I had to go get him and arrange for a tow truck.

The parade was awesome as always and I had a great time walking around the little fair/carnival in Lewiston. I caught up with a lot of friends. We took Maya with us and she was loved by the little girls. She got plenty of attention.

Mike and I slept at my mom's on an air mattress. Maya loved climbing into bed with us since we don't allow it at home.

We had fun doing fireworks at my mom's. Tessa made a little snake village.

I love spending time with my sister.

My mom got out the sidewalk chalk and Tessa and I had a good time. Notice the pic of me and my nice belly.

Mike loves lighting off the tanks and then making them explode.

I love watching Mike light the fireworks and run away for cover afterwards. haha

Tessa and her boyfriend celebrated the fireworks. Wahoo!

A week ago, Mike, Maya and I went to Bear Lake for a couple of hours. Maya had the time of her life. She loved the water and kept trying to jump on and over the waves.

Summer has been a blast so far, but it's coming to a quick end as hours are picking up for my new job. I will be posting this weekend about the greatest event of the summer... our gender reveal party to find out the sex of the baby. Stay tuned!
